One app. Three ways to see it.

Pick your approach in the welcome flow or Settings — your data never changes, only what's on screen. Stay with the approach that fits you, or switch any time to try a different one.

🔥CraftRoast by feel

“I roast by smell, sight, and sound. I want to enjoy it — not babysit an app.”

The Craft roaster works the oldest way there is: reading the beans, not a screen. You follow the color as it turns, the smell as it sweetens, and the sound of first crack, trusting your senses to tell you where the roast is. Numbers feel like a distraction — what matters is the ritual, the batch in front of you, and a cup you're proud of. The Craft view stays out of the way: a starting recipe for your machine, a few simple live cues, and a record of what you did so a roast you loved is one you can repeat.

  • Quick Roast — tap first crack, keep going. No forms or prompts mid-roast
  • Roast by sight, smell & sound — no probe, no wiring
  • Simple tasting cards that track rest time and remind you when beans are ready
  • A green-bean shelf showing what's fresh and what to roast next
  • Reporting included — a plain-English read on how your roasting is going
  • Brewing guides, dial-in calculators, and coffee education for 49 origins
📖JourneyGet better, batch by batch

“I know what I should do. I want to get better at knowing how to do it.”

The Journey roaster knows the milestones and wants the map between them. You're curious about why one batch sang and the next fell flat — roast phases, development time, what the cup is telling you — and you want guidance you can learn from, not just data to stare at. The Journey view pairs every roast with plain-language coaching: a guided plan going in, feedback as the roast unfolds, and cupping that turns "I think I like it" into notes you can act on next batch.

Shows everything in the Craft view, plus:
  • Adaptive Roast — pick a flavor profile & roast level, get a guided heat/fan plan with live feedback when the roast drifts
  • Full ratings & guided cupping, organized by coffee, method, roast level & origin
  • Blending — build from your stock with a predicted cup profile, or match blends to your taste
  • The Roast Quality Score with predicted cup scores and plain-language fix guidance
  • Equipment advisor — the right next roaster for how you roast
  • Temperature-probe logging (USB Mastech or WiFi) when you're ready to add one
🔬ScienceEvery number on the table

“I want every data point, my own recipes, and a profile that reacts to what's actually happening in the roaster.”

The Science roaster treats every batch as an experiment. You want Rate of Rise on screen, development-time ratio to the second, and the quiet variables — room temperature, humidity, line voltage, bean density — folded into the plan instead of ignored. Suggestions are welcome; decisions are yours. The Science view puts every metric, chart, and cupping form on screen live, and lets you author your own recipes prompt-by-prompt.

Shows everything in the Journey view, plus:
  • Quick, Adaptive, or your own recipe authored prompt-by-prompt
  • Live Rate of Rise, DTR & drop-timing targets, phase-colored charts
  • Environmental & power-aware adjustments (room temp, humidity, line voltage)
  • Full 100-point SCA cupping with spider charts, flavor wheel & blind mode
  • The complete Roast Quality Score & Calculator — nothing summarized away
  • Every Reporting view: quality trends, cost & value, curve comparison, exports

The Roast Quality Score

Every roast earns a score on a 100-point scale — graded against your targets, not someone else's ideal.

The score weighs how the roast actually went — roast level versus target, development time ratio, rate of rise, weight loss, and evenness — and adapts to how you roast, so hand-loggers and air-roasters get fair feedback too. Set per-coffee roast targets and consistency tolerances, and the score grades against your numbers.

Plan it — the Quality Roast Calculator

Work the other direction: tell it your bean, your roaster, and the cup you're after, and it plans a starting profile built to score well. Moisture or density readings add precision — totally optional.

Land it — the live drop window

After first crack, a drop window anchored to your actual crack time counts down on screen in both roasting modes — so you drop in the zone instead of guessing.

Learn from it — coaching & trends

Each score comes with per-metric target ranges and a plain-English "where to focus" read-out. The Reporting module tracks your quality trend over time, with a deep view into any single roast.

Recipes & repeatability

The roast you loved shouldn't be a one-off. Save it, name it, run it again.

Save any roast as a recipe scoped to your roaster — heat, fan, timing, and dose — then run it again with one tap. Recipes grow into a library you refine as you learn what works, and you can start a new roast from any past roast or favorite.

Per-coffee targets

Give each bean its own roast targets and consistency tolerances. Quick Roast starts where you like it, and the Roast Quality Score grades against your numbers.

Favorite roast levels

Mark up to two favorite roast levels per bean — the levels you actually drink — and the app defaults to them every time you roast that coffee.

Roaster-aware

Recipes are tied to the machine they were built on, so a Fresh Roast recipe never masquerades as a Behmor one. Every profile speaks your roaster's controls.

Coming soon: import your history from Artisan (.alog), RoasTime, Cropster & any CSV — curves and milestones intact, auto-matched to your inventory. Included with Home when it lands.
