Your control center for everything behind the scenes. Pick your Display Mode, set up your roaster and probe, back up your data, enter your license key, and choose a theme.
From the main menu or the gear icon in the header bar, open Settings. This is where you configure your RoastSource experience — how much of the app you see, how the app looks, how your data is backed up, and what equipment you use.
Settings → Display Mode sets how much of the app you see. Craft is for roasting by sight, sound, and smell — Quick Roast, a simple Tasting view, and guides for your roaster. Journey adds Blending, the full Equipment module, and light data guidance. Science shows everything, including temperature curves. The welcome flow picks one for you; switch any time — nothing is deleted, only shown or hidden.
Head to My Roasting Equipment and tap Add Roaster. Pick your model from 40+ home roasters, then check the type (drum, fluid-bed, hybrid), batch capacity, and probe information. Accurate roaster details make the roast plans in the Roasting module fit your machine. RoastSource Home holds one roaster profile.
Optional — only if you log temperatures. Open the Temperature Probes section (highlighted in blue) and tap Configure. RoastSource Home supports a USB probe (Mastech) and a WiFi probe (BounceBuster), which logs both bean and environment temperature. TC4-WB, Croaster and other Artisan-compatible WiFi loggers can be picked too, marked testing while we refine them. Turn it on and save; from then on your probe is pre-selected as the temperature source when you set up a roast.
Tap Sync in the header to open Sync & Backup (it's also under Settings → Data & Backup), and choose a local folder on your machine to save your RoastSource data. This creates a backup you can restore from at any time. Back up regularly — especially after roast sessions or big inventory changes. Your data lives in browser storage and can be lost if the browser's site data is cleared.
Sync is optional. To reach your data from another device, pick a folder inside Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud Drive as your backup location. Changes travel through that service — RoastSource doesn't run a server of its own.
After you buy RoastSource Home, open License Key in Settings and paste in your license key. Home unlocks straight away. Moving to a new device? Deactivate the license on the old one and activate it on the new one.
Go to Appearance and toggle between Dark theme and the Light “Coffee Cream” theme. Dark is the default and recommended for most use. The Coffee Cream theme uses warm latte-art-inspired tones ideal for daytime. Your preference is saved per device.
Try RoastSource free for 30 days — no card, no account. Then set up your roaster, pick your mode, and back up your data.
